Saturday, November 12, a vulnerable woman (because moving in a wheelchair) goes out to do some shopping in the village of La Pommeraye, commune delegated to Mauges-sur-Loire, in the west of Maine-et-Loire.
On the way back, she stops in a park, where she talks with two men whom she will later describe as being of African type . One of them leaves. The other remains. According to the complainant, he kissed her, before laying her on the ground, committing sexual touching and rape.
The suspect, a young migrant housed in a center in the town, was quickly arrested. He was indicted for rape of a vulnerable person and remanded in custody.
The investigation opened quickly identified the two people who were in the park with the complainant. They are two men housed at the CPAR (Centre for Preparation for Voluntary Return) in La Pommeraye.
According to our information, they were welcomed there after being expelled from migrant camps located in the North and in the Paris region. They were not in the initial approach of the center, namely the voluntary return to their country of origin.
Beyond the legal proceedings initiated, the indicted cannot therefore be, as it stands, the subject of an expulsion procedure. Such a procedure could be initiated if the Paris court provides proof of his majority and if a possible asylum application is rejected.
