All members of the local and federal police – including the CALog (Administrative and Logistics Executives) – who work in Brussels received this Friday morning a “vigilance” alert to inform them that a certain 24-year-old Hamza had just come to go to the emergency room of the Sainte-Anne / Saint-Remi clinic, boulevard Jules Graindor, in Anderlecht, to make threats – in particular that he was going to represent himself to kill everyone and thus die – while shouting “Allahu akbar “.
The man, Hamza, 24, presented himself armed with a knife on Friday morning at the emergency department of the Brussels hospital. There he allegedly shouted “Allahu Akbar” (“God is the greatest ”), then said he was going to die but would come back to “ kill everyone ”, according to witnesses.
The individual then left without causing any casualties. However, the police took the threat very seriously and immediately organized a manhunt. The Brussels public prosecutor’s office had been informed, as well as all the other police zones in the capital and all the hospitals in the Brussels region. The police in his town of residence, Martelange, in the province of Luxembourg, had also been notified.
Friday evening, the man could finally be arrested in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode. According to the police, this arrest took place without problems.
