Rishi Sunak, who initiated the crisis in Boris Johnson’s administration by quitting last summer from his position as Chancellor of the Exchequer, will now take office as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

Despite the fact that Sunak overthrew his own administration and was viewed as a traitor by many Tories, the party today formally chose him as the next Prime Minister.

– Our next prime minister has been picked. The challenger, Penny Mordaunt, told Sky News that the choice is historic and demonstrates the diversity and brilliance of her party.

David Cameron, a former British prime minister, congratulated Sunak on his election and stated on Twitter that he “predicted” 10 years ago that the Tories would make sure that Britain elected a leader from the Third World. Anything that is now, at last, coming to pass.

And now Great Britain is being led by Indians. When India was led by Britons, it was considered “evil” and colonialism. How is this not the same then? Our countries are going to hell at such a fast pace that we can’t even keep up with anymore.

“That it will happen makes me happy. I wish Rishi the best and am completely behind him” Twitter is where Cameron posts.
