The law’s penalties belie the claim by the Energy Department official that “There are no such federal posters, nor do we call for people to be exposed.” The poster is a brilliant expose of the dangers of totalitarian government.

Underscoring and validating the concern of Swiss citizens and others who believed the poster was real, is the report of an angry official who declared “the government is investigating who created the hoax.” If the poster is merely a hoax, why is the Swiss government wasting time and resources to hunt down its creator?
