Unifier-In-Chief Joe Biden on Friday had to backpedal divisive remarks from the previous day essentially labeling half of the country radical threats to democracy.
Responding to a question from Fox News’ Peter Doocy, who asked if he “considered all Trump supporters to be a threat to the country,” Biden appeared to reverse the tough stance taken during Thursday night’s speech saying he doesn’t consider that to be the case.
“You keep trying to make that case. I don’t consider any Trump supporters a threat to the country,” Biden told Doocy. “I do think anyone who calls for the use of violence, refuses to acknowledge an election…changing the way you count votes, that is a threat to democracy.”
Contrary to his claims, Biden the previous night did say he considered MAGA Republicans a threat.
“As I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under assault. We do ourselves no favor to pretend otherwise,” Biden stated. “There’s no question that the Republican Party today is dominated, driven and intimidated by Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans. And that is a threat to this country.”
A tweet from Biden’s official account posted during his speech also said “Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans are a threat to the very soul of this country.”
Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi echoed Biden’s sentiment towards Trump supporters in a statement released Thursday night, claiming “In the Congress and across the country, extreme MAGA Republicans are orchestrating a sinister campaign,” while at the same time calling Biden’s speech “inspiring and optimistic.”
Trump himself, meanwhile, took to Truth Social Thursday night to blast the senile late septuagenarian’s remarks as the rantings of an “insane” demented lunatic.
Despite Trump’s supposed existential threat to Democracy, Biden is reportedly considering granting the former president a preemptive pardon over the FBI’s current case regarding the mishandling of classified documents, according to journalist Jack Posobiec.
