This Saturday, the tension was still very high in the vicinity of the particularly popular place of freshness with rising temperatures. According to information from Le Progrès , around 30 individuals attacked a couple in their car around 4:30 p.m. The latter, for having refused to bring young people (Muslims youths) back to the Lyon suburbs, saw the suspects knock on their car before a fight broke out. According to the Rhône gendarmerie, individuals have missed the departure of the last free shuttles which leave for Lyon. But the troublemakers refused to pay for their train tickets, the gendarmerie was forced to intervene.
The police asked Keolis to send two buses to pick up latecomers. While waiting for the arrival of the shuttles, a hedge was set on fire. On board the specially deployed transports, new clashes took place. Once again, the police were forced to intervene to restore calm between the individuals. Finally, the two shuttles were escorted by the military to Vaise station in the 9th arrondissement of Lyon.
At the end of May, violence had already been recorded near the same body of water in Colombier. Two groups of young individuals had clashed during a giant brawl with mortar fireworks.
