According to information from Progrès, confirmed by our police sources, the passenger of a tram was attacked by two men around 7:30 p.m. not far from the Perrache station. The duo allegedly tried to snatch the bag from the victim, but a witness managed to warn the target of the criminals.

The latter nevertheless continued their misdeed by spraying the witness with tear gas while drawing a knife to make him retreat. The man now targeted dodged stab wounds. The two suspects then fled while passengers were inconvenienced by the vapors of the tear gas canister.

Contacted, the police quickly tracked down a member of the duo. This 17-year-old Algerian in an irregular situation was arrested around 8 p.m. in the Guillotière district according to our colleagues who specify that he was still in possession of the knife and the gas. The individual was taken into custody.
