Nukes have made the western countries weak. They can’t even do anything they used to be able to in WW2 just out of fear. The purpose of nuclear weapons is to fire them if the other party uses them first. So there is no problem to go in and start using conventional weapons. Russia knows if they launch a nuke first they will get a response. The only thing that is allowing Russia to win is the indecisiveness and chickening out of western states.
