Our Founding Fathers correctly feared democracy in it’s pure form which is why they created a Republic with representative democratic features. They wanted the People to be able to choose our own leaders, but didn’t want this done on a direct basis as such would give those in the cites absolute say over the whole country. There is more I could go into on this, but I’ll leave it here unless interested parties would like to know more. I will just add that our current government no doubt has our Founding Fathers spinning in their graves.
