Police in Paris on Sunday arrested a Congolese nursing assistant for the rape of a 92-year-old women living in the nursing home which employed him.
The attack is said to have taken place sometime before 6:45 pm on Sunday evening at the ‘Korian Les Arcades’ nursing home, which is located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris. After receiving a disturbing report from one of the nursing assistants, the director of the living facility for dependent elderly people alerted police to the situation, 20 Minutes France reports.
After arriving at the scene, police from the Anti-Crime Brigade interviewed the witness who claimed to have caught the man shortly after the rape had taken place. The nursing assistant told police that while she was carrying out a series of room checks, she discovered her colleague in the victim’s room – a room he was not supposed to be in.
The witness then explained that when the man turned around she noticed that his pants were down and his genitals were out. Upon further investigation, she saw that the elderly women in the room was only partially clothed. Realizing what had just occurred, the nursing assistant screamed and the man fled immediately.
Fortunately, the suspect didn’t get far. Police were able to arrest him shortly after they arrived at the scene.
The 92-year-old victim, absolutely traumatized from what had just happened to her, had to be treated by emergency services.
The shocking story comes just days after an illegal migrant from Senegal was arrested in Italy for allegedly raping a nurse who had just finished a shift at the hospital treating COVID-19 patients. The sickening attack, which is said to have lasted 45 minutes, took place in broad daylight at a bus stop in Naples.
