Former UK PM Theresa May says Coronavirus Pandemic is the Fault of Nationalists

As people have sought to place the responsibility for the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, many culprits have been found. Some, including national leaders such as Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and US President Donald Trump, have pointed to mass immigration, which eased the virus’ spread, and globalisation, which has hampered the ability of many countries to produce needed medical supplies themselves. But the United Kingdom’s former Prime Minister, Theresa May, says it is in fact nationalism that is to blame.

In an editorial she published in The Times on Wednesday entitled “Nationalism is No Ally in This Battle without Borders,” May unequivocally pointed her finger at populist nationalism while praising international organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO).

“Against a backdrop of populist politics in many countries, the search for political solutions to economic and social challenges has become a competition of absolutes,” May wrote. “A polarised politics has taken hold. It views the world through a prism of winners and losers and sees compromise and co-operation as signs of weakness.”

May accused nationalists of undermining those international institutions which she alleges are best-equipped to handle the crisis, writing that the national governments’ uncertainty as to how to go about combating the virus is “exacerbating the shift towards nationalism and absolutism which is emasculating the institutions that served us well over decades.”

In contrast, May praised “great multilateral institutions” such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organisation, and the WHO. She didn’t bother to mention that the WHO has been found guilty of spreading Chinese government propaganda which downplayed the threat posed by the virus in the early stages of the outbreak, as previously reported by Voice of Europe.

May also said that the best way forward for the UK is, in fact, to forge a closer relationship with China. “The question should not be ‘whose side are you on’ but how can we work together to engage with China to ensure that it adopts higher standards on intellectual property, carbon emissions, human rights and regional security,” May wrote.

Mrs. May’s dislike for national independence and love for multinational organisations may explain why the primary legacy of her administration was to fail to deliver Brexit to the British people who had chosen to exercise it.

Other world leaders have taken a different view from May’s about the best way forward. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has denounced mass immigration for its role in spreading the virus to his country, as previously reported by Voice of Europe. And last month, President Trump cut off his country’s funding for the WHO for its role in spreading disinformation.

Stupid useless old hag! Had the world been nationalist led people like Hitler, there would be no Coronavirus outside China in the first place!!! The virus has been “without borders” because the world is “without borders”! Its because its led by disgusting globalist demons like you! Stupid useless old witch! Too bad she didn’t get coronavirus so she can shut her filthy mouth forever!
