greek border invasion stones attack

As the migrant crisis at the border of Greece deepens, it has become e that the vast majority of the so-called “refugees” that want to cross the border are not Syrians but are individuals from a broad range of nations in the Middle East and Africa.

The regime leader of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, decided to open the border to Europe after claiming that EU wasn’t supporting Turkey’s military action in North-Syria and that Turkey isn’t hasn’t received the aid it needs to continue supporting the Syrian refugees, Proto Thelma reports.

Greece reports that in this ongoing migrant crisis at its southern border, an incredibly small percentage of the migrants are actually Syrian. Most of the so-called “refugees” are young, able-bodied men from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and various African nations like as Morroco, Ethiopia, and Egypt.

Most migrants who’ve been detained in Greece after entering the country illegally are Afghans, according to the Greek government.

According to local authorities, of all the migrants who’ve been detained by the border police, the vast majority come from Afghanistan (64 percent), followed by Pakistanis (19 percent), then Turks (5 percent), then Syrians (4 percent), then finally Iraqis, Iranians, Moroccans, Egyptians, and those from Bangladesh who as a collective group comprised 5.4 percent of those who’ve been arrested by Greek authorities for illegal entry.

There have been claims by Turkey that well over 100,000 migrants have amassed at the Greek-Turkish border, a claim that Greece denies.

Opening of the gates to Europe, for Erdogan, is a way that he can punish Europe for not bending to his will. Following the Turkish invasion of the northern part of Syria and the deaths of Turkish soldiers at the hands of either the Syrians or their Russian allies, Erdogan has called on the EU – its NATO ally – to support its military efforts in conflict.

Turkey is also demanding that the EU gives it more cash to pay for the so-called refugees it’s hosting. The EU has already handed over billions upon billions of euros to Turkey to help them with the so-called refugees.

Greece has responded strongly to the situation.

“Europe is not going to be blackmailed by Turkey,” Greek prime minister Kyriakos Mitsotaki said while adding that Greek government has exercised its rights to protect its sovereignty and its borders, which acts as the border for Europes Schengen Zone.

Greece has received ample support from its partners within the European Union. Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia have pledged their support to Greece, while governments like Finland who are controlled by leftist Millenial women condemned Greece for denying asylum applications while the crisis is ongoing.
