That facilty develops, tests and operates technology that even Americans haven’t seen yet. And there are so many tunnels with multiple levels that they wouldn’t find anything significant anyway.
Here’s how it would go down. A large mass of people attempt to storm the facility, several in the front get shot and the rest retreat hastily. This area is where reverse engineering of foreign technogy is done also. It’s above top secret classification for that and other important reasons. The UK has their own secret facilities also. The U S is no more or less secretive than Russia, China, England, France or any Midfle East country. The work was originally done at Wright Patterson airforce base near Dayton, Ohio. They reverse engineered captured German and Japanese military ewuipment but Dayton was just too populated for the development of the U2 and SR71 Blackbird spy planes that preceded satelites. The F117A stealth fighter, B2 stealth bomber, F18, F22 Raptor and F35 were all tested and perfected at Area 51, thus necessitating the secrecy. So yeah, go ahead and try to storm it. People will get shot, plenty more will be arrested and convicted. The first official acknowledgement of Area 51 was in 1995 due to a lawsuit by employess exposed to toxic burning. See presidential directive 95-45 signed in 1995 by Bill Clinton exempting area 51 from EPA toxic burning regulations. Nothing but finished equipment leaves the base. Everything no longer needed is burnt in deep pits and dozed over.
