I went to a conservative college – Los Angeles Baptist College (which is now The Master’s University). I majored in Bible and English. I graduated in 1984. There I finally began to understand who I was, and I thanked God, because I’d always felt a little different from my friends. It was at LABC that I came to understand that I was a lesbian.

Say what you will about conservative colleges; they’re great at teaching. I was taught to fear God, and boy, did I fear him. I was terrified of him because of what his word taught (the *literal* word of God, remember): that he was a vain, vengeful, bloodthirsty god who required blood for his satisfaction.

A god of love? For God so loved the world? My ass. If he were a god of love her would have redeemed his children because he loved them. If he were a god of love, he wouldn’t torture and murder *anyone* as the price of redemption.

Do send your children to conservative colleges, by all means. They’re good places for the young to learn the truth about so many things.
