Christmas markets in Germany were widely known for their great ambiance and their tasty “Glühwein”, but this is changing rapidly.
Since illegal Muslim migrant Anis Amri drove his truck into Berlin’s Christmas Market and killed 12 people at the Breitscheidplatz, things will probably never be the same again.
Especially in Berlin this is clearly visible, as the Breitscheidplatz’s Christmas market looks more like a guarded army base.
Sadly, the damaged Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (in the middle of the image below) near the market is a memorial of the Second World War.
However, in 2018 the place looks far from peaceful again as there are large iron fences which are strengthened by massive sacks with tons of sand behind them.
Anti-truck steel bollards and concrete barriers finish the job and make it a safe but cheerless place.
