Politicized winter Olympics a bust for US athletes, TV ratings.
It turns out that a U.S. Olympics team filled with social justice warriors isn’t maybe the best model for getting to peak performance in the actual Olympics events or in the TV ratings.
NBC’s TV audience for these Olympics games, in fact, are headed to be the lowest ever recorded.
As the games wind down to a blessed conclusion this week, the U.S. team itself has managed to win only 13 total medals, and will finish with its lowest medal count since 1998. Just a thought, but perhaps U.S. Olympics organizers in the future should ask their athletes to focus more of their energies on excelling in their chosen events and less on shooting their mouths off about political issues to any TV camera that happens to be in the vicinity.
