Just one example of the complete lack of reading comprehension displayed by the anti-semitic writer of this piece:
“People who wish to get married in the State of Israel via the Chief Rabbinate must be recognized as a Jew and prove own Jewish dynasty,” the Ynet article continued, confirming the already well-known fact that in Israel it is illegal for a non-Jew to marry a Jew.”
It is not at all illegal in Israel for a non-Jew to marry a Jew. As the quote cited itself proclaims – people who wish to get married in the State of Israel VIA THE CHIEF RABBINATE must be recognized as a Jew. The Chief Rabbinate is the religious body overseeing Jewish relligious weddings within Israel. (There is a similar structure for Muslim, Druze, and Christian religious ceremonies as well.) Anybody who wants to can participate in whatever civil ceremony they’d like, and that is recognized by the government as valied. Religious ceremonies are governed by the religious bodies, and religious laws, of that particular religion.

“Frightening process”??? Whoever wrote this codswallop must be another Jew-hater and Israel-basher who crawled out of a fungus-filled rat hole. To slime Jews by painting all of us with the same filthy brush of religious hatred and claim the very same thing that Herr Hitler and his gang proclaimed of Teutonic racial purity is, frankly, spineless and duplicitous and wreaks from racist theory.

Forget all the science and deal with the fact that Jews and Israel are now part and parcel of the globe, and we’re not going anywhere other than to our ancestral homeland called Israel whether the misanthropes like it or not.

additionally –
5) We have plentiful evidence that communities around the world had a “founder effect” where jewish men married local women – this applies equally in Ashkenaz and Sepharad/Mizrah… yet this article claims to use Mitochondrial DNA – ie Female line only…. by default they are therefore tracking non semitic DNA in most cases!
6) Whatever Mitochondrial DNA they used to identify would only be applicable to the one specific origin group due to the founder effect (see 1 above) – and would therefore exclude others… sephardim, mizrahim, bene israel etc…
7) If your DNA test was truly “semitic”, it would by default include those of our Genetic cousins who either were assimilated, forcibly converted over the centuries, or were of closely related tribes before the Israelits/Hebrews broke off to become an identifiable seperate grouping…. so this approach would entitle many Kurds and Palestinians to Israeli citizenship

I am no expert on DNA, but I will remark about what I DO know:
1) This is not true: “Rabbi Yosef Carmel, who also sits on the Gazit rabbinical court—one of the religious courts which controls Israeli citizenship and marriage eligibility rules.” This court does NOT.
2) These “Roots” do not prove more than there was a Jewess somewhere preceding this person. It CAN show belonging to the Jewish people only IF the matrilinial line is unbroken.
3) Statements about egg donation are – at this stage – pure speculation.
4) The statement “According to the Jewish law, one considers as a Jew only if he was born to a Jewish mother.” is not true. ANY PERSON who so choses can convert and is considered a full Jew.
Jews are not a “race” but a “family”: The Children of Israel. You can join the family. The ceremony is not called “marriage”, but “conversion”. And, like marriage, there are appropriate terms and conditions.
