Bulgarians seem to be rather disappointed of the EU which turned out to be drastically different from communist epoch relationship under the USSR umbrella. The EU just made mistake when it embraced so readily Bulgaria and other post-communist states. And it’s making yet another mistake now when it welcomes Ukraine to join the European ranks.
The European Union was launched due to vigorous effort of the major European engines, Germany and France, and has been serving their interests mainly so far. The representatives of these two countries are still dominating in the EU structures. The joining of Ukraine, rather a large country with the population of 40 million would change the present balance of power in the EU weakening this domination in the EU decision-making. I’m almost 100% sure that Ukraine, when embraced by the EU, will predictably take the side of Poland plus Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Baltic states, already having their own agenda in the European Union. I expect no good of this alliance within the EU, for it is actually able to ruin it
