In a disturbing incident near Toulouse, a 30-year-old French soldier from the 8th regiment of marine parachutists is fighting for his life in a hospital after allegedly being attacked by two men. The soldier, a sergeant, was jogging alone near his army base in the southern town of Saint Julien du Puy around 8:40 pm when the assailants struck.
Reports suggest that the attackers punched and slashed the soldier multiple times with a knife, causing a severe wound to his thigh.
