One can say that this is one point of view. However, I don’t buy that at all! It’s more likely that Kerry came with Nuland to concede to Russia. This is why the are now saying Asad can stay. Russian recent act of going on full Nuclear alert issued by Putin scared the crap out of them. Thus, realizing that Russia is indeed ready for war and thus the bluff failed. It’s just the opposite Russia is winning.

BS, kerry was there because they saw that Russia is winning, and probably made a deal for their belowed jihadi buddies, so that they can leave Syria before the Russians bomb them to pieces, hence their pull out from southern Damascus.
The U.S. at present state is not in a shape to force ultimatums on Russia, Russia has the moral highground and people can see it, the U.S. foreign policy cant even play catch up with the Russians, as Putin is two steps ahead of them, he clearly shows what horrors the U.S. govt supports for the whole World to see, Kerry was there to save his jihadi buddies and ask a favor from Putin that the U.S. govt can keep its face and avoid total humilation.
End of story.
Russia and Syria has won against U.S. backed jihadists, thats pretty clear now, and Donbas is also gone for Good, no more ukienazi genocide there either.
