The Fukushima disaster was a terrible disappointment, it was already scheduled for decommission as it was an obsolete design. If only they had dismantled it sooner. The engineer who worked on its seawall also recommended a higher wall than was ultimately built.

Nuclear meltdown is impossible, that’s what the nuclear industry told us.

And they are prepared to handle any incident, that’s what they said. And the U.S. State Department would never approve the sale of an unsafe nuclear reactor to Japan, that’s what was promised.

Of course, General Electric would never suggest locating a nuclear reactor in a known earthquake/Tsunami zone.

So let’s build 74 more reactors inside the U.S. and finish off the human race forever, right?

Nuclear reactors are not, and cannot, be safe because of the human error factor, or in the case of Fukushima, the ongoing comedy of human errors.
