Possibly one reason why Britain has not collapsed like Greece is that it retained its own currency and had not adopted the Euro. Britain had insulated itself from the bad decisions of others, and that is a good thing.

Leaving the EU would provide even more benefits as Britain could make its own deals without needing the approval of foreign interests.

The reasons why the EU can’t succeed are many – unlike the US, the EU has different languages, different legal systems, different cultures, different beliefs, and different histories, and nothing in common other than a desire to travel without checkpoints and to remain in peace. And any of those goals can be done by treaty without creating a monsterous government entity called the EU.
