The rebellion ended the career of their commander, Col. Brainard, and eventually the war, because it came after a series of rebellions in Vietnam with troops fragging officer’s tents, shooting their leaders, etc.

It became public knowledge that draftees did not willingly comply regardless of their orders. If the US government wants more of that, then the Congress can give it to them by reinstating the draft. My guess is that the Pentagon remembers the lesson and won’t support a draft.
