The fact that this needs to occur is an indictment of our entire system of government. The governments first and only priority, especially when health is concerned, should be the welfare of the people. If legislation can’t get passed without Big Pharma blessing, then we need an overhaul.

That’s not what was said. What was said is that allowing companies to put faulty drugs on the market, without fear of prosecution, is tantamount to a genocidal policy. The author is correct in that the lack of fear of repercussion will cause these companies to be much less careful about what they release. You can;t take the penalties away from big business and expect that they will do the right thing. If you believe this, then you live under a rock. Therefore, this policy WILL up deaths from pharma drugs.

This, perhaps, is your dumbest statement. The reasons for its stupidity are both readily evident and complex. First, there is a social contract between the citizens of this country and all of the infrastructure that comprises it, including our healthcare. If our healthcare cannot keep up its part of this contract, and first do no harm, then it is a failed institution and needs to be held accountable. Failure to be accountable points to a failure of our Nation, as a Nation, in general. People have the absolute right to expect that there drugs are reasonably safe, in the same vein that they have a right to decent healthcare. To say that someone can opt not to take their heart or diabetes medication is the opinion of a complete fool.

lizard people are a real and legitimate threat. americans are complacent and fail to report on this insidious threat to the future of our great country.
