I find this to be a really magnificent and interesting article! If stripes are a natural defense against parasites, maybe we should grow some!

If a deadly pathogen starts spreading because of insects of one kind or another, maybe something as simple as wearing a black and white striped shirt might help protect us.
How someone could post a comment that this kind of research is ridiculous never ceases to amaze me.

Grow a brain. Your ignorance makes me vomit blood. These researchers apply themselves more than you ever will. That’s obvious. Either develop a healthy respect for science and knowledge, or go live in the dark ages where you came from.

hey Ripples – You can’t legislate curiosity. That’s what’s behind all discovery. Many times one seemly useless discovery will spur another immensely practical one. Who is to decide what is worth investigating? On what criteria are the decisions to be made? Leave it alone. Complain about something really offensive, like war or corruption.

I can’t believe money was wasted studying this. What’s next- finding the reason giraffes have long necks and why elephants are fat? Try using money to research things that MATTER, like cures for diseases or how we can boost populations of endangered species.
