I agree with you, Martyn. Russian Military should have done it much earlier and Libya could have been, most likely, saved. It is really such a PITY :cry:

But you have to think what it means for Russia to be involved into that sort of the conflict BEFORE IT IS POSSIBLE. It means a certain move for a full-scale war when, perhaps, the Military Forces were not completely ready yet, let alone it would mean to put MUCH MORE of people into the huge risk of the total war. But now it looks like the Russian Military Forces ARE READY to reject the constant pressure of the enemy and thus can probably make some reliable balance of forces. In this case the guaranteed chance for the enemy to get a proper punishment could, perhaps, prevent the disaster of the global war. If not, the punishment is and will be always guaranteed anyway.

Also, you have to know a difference between Russian people and Russian government as well as between Russian government and Russian Military. Think about it and you can get why it goes THIS way and not the OTHER.
