Would the Gestapo or SS have let Government protesters run wild for weeks? Of course not, total non-sense.

The protests were hurting local businesses. When an unruly mob disobeys a direct police order to disband, the police have to take it to the next level. Their hand was forced. I suppose it would be different if the American people supported the movement, but we don’t.

Socialism is always total horse manure. Sounds good on paper, but totally unpractical and stupid in practice.
