Yulia Tymoshenko belonged to the same party as Yushchenko (correct me if I am wrong on this). Yanukovich was backed by the USA. Shortly after the outcome of the election, there was mass protest and not long after that they had a re-election. This time Yanukovich won. Very shortly after that he flew to the USA and came back with much promises.

I cannot help but to be suspicious when a leader are backed by the US Government. This verdict is a pure political move and the US Government will not say a word about it. Putin’s statements above carry much weight. Sorry, but it looks that this world will remain a shit place for as long as the US Government has any power/influence. Fortunately, what goes up must come down!
