In my previous comment should be: “Hence cosmic rays cloud seeding do not drive up global warming.”

And something more. Some claim that Sun’s radiation drives up global warming.

Sun’s activity has been declining since solar cycle 19 that took place in the 1960’s. But before that, Sun’s activity was increasing, from 1900 to 1960’s.
Sunspot cysles since 1940:

Sunspots since 1600:

Now, the global temperature has rising more when Sun’s activity was declining (1960 to present) and the temperature was rising less when Sun’s activity was increasing.
This means Sun’s activity can’t be the force driving up the temperature. Its activity development and temperature increase are in direct conflict!

Also satellites have measured solar irradiance, and they how Sun’s total radiance is a bit declining. Not a big surprise: it’s consistent with less sunspots.

During the maxims when the activity is high (and there are a lot of sunspots) the solar wind prevents some cosmic rays reaching inner solar system. During minimums more cosmic rays reach inner solar system.
The cosmic rays come from outside the solar system.
Now, if cosmic rays and cloud formations were responsible to the global warming, we would see about 11 year minimums and maximums of Earth temperatures! Do we see that? No. Instead we se gradual warming lasting many decades.
Hence cosmic rays cloud seeking do not drive up global warming.

dude, read the article before you comment on it. the very reason why it’s so controversial is that it implies that man’s “speeding up” the process of global warming may be a dubious hypothesis after all.

and fyi, we’re talking about things from outside the solar system here. cosmic rays.

Global cooling & warming have been with us for a few years now. Go Green is just another way for the elite to skim $’s off of the new industry it will generate for no valid reason at all.
QUOTE from the TUB timeline;

750,000 B.C. – The fourth ice sheet is well on its way south. at its height it reaches to southern Illinois, displacing the Mississippi River 50 miles to the west, and in the east it extends as far south as the Ohio River and central Pennsylvania – (The Urantia Book, 61:7.2; 64:4.4)

700,000 B.C. – The fourth glacier, the greatest of all in Europe, is in recession; men and animals are returning north. The climate is cool and moist, and primitive humans again thrive in Europe and western Asia. Gradually the forests spread north over land which has been so recently covered by the glacier – (The Urantia Book, 64:4.6)

650,000 B.C. – The continuation of the mild climate. By the middle of the interglacial period it has become so warm that the Alps are almost denuded of ice and snow – (The Urantia Book, 64:4.8)

600,000 B.C. – Ice has reached its then northernmost point of retreat and, after a pause of a few thousand years, starts south again on its fifth excursion. – (The Urantia Book, 64:4.9)

550,000 B.C. – The advancing glacier again pushes men and animals south. This time there is a wide belt of land stretching northeast into Asia and lying between the ice sheet and the then greatly expanded Black Sea extension of the Mediterranean. These times of the fourth and fifth glaciers provide the further spread of the crude culture of the Neanderthal races. For almost 250,000 years these primitive peoples drifted on, hunting and fighting, by spells improving in certain directions, but, on the whole, steadily retrogressing as compared with their superior Andonic ancestors – (The Urantia Book, 64:4.10-11)

AGW supporter = lefty looney drone. Gee, now that the name calling is behind us, let’s take a look at reality.

For the sake of argument let’s assume you’re right and the globe is warming and it’s all our fault. What lefties advocate is lunacy. How rational is it, urging Americans to quit consuming, become greened out hippies wearing Birkenstocks, going vegan from our own organic gardens, and showering only once a week while between India and China the two country’s light up a new coal-fired plant every three days? Who’s going to tell the developing world to quit developing? Or to use their scarce financial resources buying inefficient and expensive alternative energy technologies vs the comparatively cheap fossil fuels which are still available? That’s what’s crazy. It ain’t gonna happen.

Instead, let’s move the discussion to finding a technological solution to global warming. There are some really smart hombres who have come up with some really nifty, real world solutions which will counteract global warming at a teeny, tiny fraction of the cost of societal changes that guys like Friedman, Gore, and the parasites at the UN advocate. There’s a whole chapter about these solutions in Dubner and Levitt’s Superfreakonomics.

If lefties started talking like this, more people might listen to them.

But to somehow say we icky human are solely to blame, and that, by gosh we gotta tax you now, and I’ll be the tax administrator is just another method to pilfer what little money we have left out of our pockets. It’s a global warming scam in that the money junkies pick and choose their “science” so as to develop policies that steal more money from us.

The sun is the ultimate power in this solar system and it does control the weather on earth. Any seven year old could tell you that. We are still warming up from the last ice age but man has helped the process along. What has taken 25 to 50 years to do should have taken about 200 years. We just have to adapt to it and live with it.
