Bessarabia has been a part of Moldova (one of the constituent 3 principalities of modern Romania) until 1812 when it was annexed by Russia who needed to control the mouths of the Danube. Russia lost it in the wake of the WW1 when Bessarabia declared its independence and voted to unite with Romania(independence and union never recognized by the newly born USSR) Bukovina (the other territory taken by USSR has never been part of the Russian empire but it was annexed by the Austrian Empire from Moldova in 1775 until the end of WW1 when it reverted to Romania.
Informations regarding these facts are easily found…although the “official” history in the former USSR will be “slightly” different – for them the atrocious communist regimes in eastern Europe were, of course, the will of the people and not of the “liberating” red army…

Any country in the world would would send its soldiers in defence of the country if it were invaded by any enemy.Wouldn’t Russia or the USA do the same? In 1939, as a result of the german-russian pact known as the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact, Russia annexed Basserabia, a romanian province. As a result Romania entered ww2 alongside Germany and sent almost 700 000 soldiers during operation Barbarossa. Romanians liberated Basserabia but moved on and occuoied Odessa (by themselves) and fought all the way to Stalingrad where they were finally defeated. So let’s usk ourselves again-which nation WOULD NOT SEND soldiers if attacked by another country? None!
That’s why the russians scream and yell; truth hurts! But Russia continues to try to push other nations around untill they will be finally taught a lesson by the civilized world!
