One doesn’t have to consider Hiroshima, Nagasaki or the Fukushima meltdown to be reminded of the horror of nuclear radiation: just look at Serbia and Iraq where DU has been dropped as if it were fertilizer: many cases of cancers plus birth defects of newborns.

So even the suspicion of constructing nukes could be fatal to Iran and the total destruction of Iraq serves as a reminder for the leadership.

But Afghanistan and Pakistan are strategic locations, Iraq, Libya and Iran are rich in oil and where the oil is, invariably, there are the “terrorists”.

North Korea can produce any amount of nuclear firecrackers but without oil, it is safe from “being brought freedom & democracy” :-D
