well said, Thunder Cloud…what happened to our people shouldn’t be wished on any other, but interesting to see how upsetting it is to the people, just think how we felt in our times…but then they called it “Manifest Destiny”. Maybe the Chinese have the same mindset. We fought and ultimately lost. I hope it doesn’t happen here again…just think how upsetting it would be to have your English-speaking kids forced to attend a Chinese speaking school, and be punished for getting caught speaking English. Time to reflect…

Ann, do you have any idea how few people we have in Idaho who know or care about this? in my county (Kootenai) the unemployment is rampant, we don’t have a welfare system so people are literally unable to care for their basic needs. They go to Spokane (Washington, next state over) so they can split up as a family and the dad goes to a mens’ shelter and the wives and kids have to go to a separate womens’ and kids’ shelter. Now does that sound fair to you? Does it sound like the people in this state have any control whatsoever?? We can put as many feet down as we have and it won’t make a bit of difference how this turns out.

hell, Vlad, we in Idaho can’t even seem to get a law in place which would put people in jail for intentionally setting their neighbor’s old cat on fire…happened right in my town, and it happened twice before the people were caught. It’s legal to starve a horse or dog to death and you get a slap on the wrist at best. You really think the money-grubbing painted whores in our Idaho state Capital care a bit about what we think? Barbara, can you really be that naive? Every nation has people who are “peaceful”, it’s the intentions of the leaders who govern those people that are of great concern. Must we continue to judge in error the actions of certain groups, religions or countries in order to appear non-judgmental, kind, or without bigotry? Seriously? And how are the comments you read hateful? You appear to have a great sense of loyalty and compassion toward the Chinese people and wholeheartedly agree with the way they are governed. We are hateful because we don’t agree? I’m tired of the ‘hate’ label that is so quickly handed out because not everybody thinks according to certain standards. The Chinese people may be wonderful, but their leaders…not so much.
