There’s another, much safer type of reactor, using thorium, that doesn’t pose such threats, can be built cheaper and is far less bulky.

Also, there’s more minable thorium than uranium, and then, the thorium is used much more efficiently than uranium.

The only reason why there are no thorium reactors is that they are unsuitable to produce material for bombs! So there is not a single thorium reactor in the “nuke’m all, also with DU” club headed by the US.

As due to climate change (melting snow and ice) the weight distribution on the earth crust changes, the incidence of earthquakes is likely to increase.
It isn’t a question if California will have its Fukushima, only when.
