It was a control thing – just like it is now in our “in God we trust” monetary rule society, the government was the Church – and they changed rules and twisted rules to thier own pleasure and wealth – see any similarities these days?
I simply don’t fully trust the Vatican’s translation of the Bible, considering they could change whatever they wanted to suit their control, at the time. Who was going to stop them?

Oh and the second son’s name was ISRAEL, only can be called firstborn of SARAH. If we go by traditional marriage “rules”, Sarah’s and Abraham’s “marriage contract” was not consummated (finalized) until she bore her husband’s child. So, it was customary for a handmaiden to be taken to bear child for a barren wife, however the chosen wife would have special priviledges as compared to a concubine. Ismael had first-born birthright as Abraham’s son, but God recognized Sarah’s title at consummation, which also gave Israel equal birthright under her husband Abraham.

The bible is a great read no matter what you believe – I especially like the ch. Ezekiel 1, it talks of aliens visiting the earth, and when the people wouldn’t listen to Ezekiel, the aliens abducted him.

well, I ‘ve read my bible from front to back – and if I am to take it as true, then Islam is a direct “brother religion” in God through Abraham…you see, Abraham had a firstborn son (by his handmaiden, since his wife Sarah could not bear children) named Ismael. At the time, our father Abraham worshipped several pagan gods (one being Sin, god of the moon, who was the father of the sun).

So anyway, an angel of God wanted Abraham to worship only one god, but Abraham refused – so the angel spoke with Sarah, promising that if she and Abraham would believe in only one God, she would bear her own son for Abraham. Sarah talked Abraham into it, and monotheism was born.

Now, Sarah was very Jealous of Abraham’s firstborn son Ismael, and committed a horrific act by sending the loyal handmaiden and Ismael out to the desert to die (she had her own son now, didn’t need Abraham’s other son). Abraham was heartbroken, but God told him to recognize Sarah’s right, as wife, to banish the unneeded handmaiden and God promised him that his firstborn son would be safe, and that BOTH sons will become great nations under God. Islam and Judaeism were the results.

So, not to sound disrespectful, but if Islam was founded upon pagan beliefs, so was Judaeism and Christianity, because, Abraham worshipped pagan gods.
Otherwise, in my understanding, all three “religions” are following one God – the God of Abraham.

Then someone is sharing a very wrong information with u my friend. Islam started in Makkah the Muslims migrated to Medina, people worshiped only Allah since the beginning of Islam not any moon god, and please search on relative topic before u say something, just at least once in ur life just search about such things with open mind being unbiased. The person mentioned in this article is not God but human being. And there is no concept of Two or more gods. There is only one God Allah and Muhammad (S.A.W) is HIS Prophet.

I think it says alot that the person who speaks of the last caliph bringing peace titles himself “hunter_hunted”. He sounds peaceful.
