Yes, the federal govt. is in bed with the USDA, and the chemical industry and has been for a long time. They would like nothing more than for all americans to stop eating good food. Poisoning the public is worth it, if you support the companies that pay for your re-election.

I am ALL FOR transparency concerning the USDA and my food. I am very much against fear mongering. A quick search on the internet provided me with this information- NEOTAME is not allowed in Organic Foods in the US. This is the same deal as the whole controversy about cloned meat which also does not have to have a label on it saying the meat is cloned according to the USDA or FDA. It just makes the common mind think now…usually when they write articles about this stuff it’s more than likely past tense, meaning this stuff has already had some time to be unleashed in the world and now they just tell you how they are poisoning you. This is usually the case, now, even though whole foods and trader joes, moms organic market, Yes! organic, are chain stores there are local farmers and the Mennonites who still produce their own produce for sal…oh wait, nevermind, they are raiding them as well. :shrugs: what are you gonna do? only you can answer that question now

The US Federal government has been trying to shut down or change Organic Farming for years.

This may not work or be true, but believe me.
I eat Organic food, and shop at Whole Foods.
The Federal Government is trying to get the rest of us on there poisons. All of us.
If they could shut down all Organic Farming without an outcry from Americans.
They would do it right now.
As well as take away our guns, and freedom of speech on the Internet and in public.
Oh wait, freedom of speech in public is already gone.
Well they would with the others that is for sure.

I DONT KNOW WHO POSTED THIS BUT I URGE YOU TO LOOK UP APPROVED USES FOR NEOTAME. IT SAYS NOWHERE THAT I CAN FIND THAT THE PREVIOUS POST TRIED TO CONTRADICT APPROVED USES OF THIS TOXIC ‘SWEETENER’. PROBABLY A MONSANTO INTEREST UNDER AN ASSUMED GUISE. ORGANIC TRADE MY WALNUTS!

It is important for consumers to know that neotame is not allowed for use in organic products. Neotame is not included on the National List(http://ecfr.gpoaccess.gov/cgi/t/text/text-idx?c=ecfr&sid=fbc697b0474ea6a90b9b31be05ddc029&rgn=div6&view=text&node=7:3.1.1.9.32.7&idno=7), and is therefore not permitted for use in organic production and processing.

It is also worth noting that on January 6th, the National Organic Program issued the following statement affirming that neotame is not allowed for use in organic: “The National Organic Program has received inquiries concerning Internet claims that the artificial sweetener Neotame is allowed in organic foods.

To clarify, it is NOT permitted in organic foods or foods labeled ‘made with organic [specified ingredient or food group],’ nor is it permitted in organic livestock feed.”
