Canada, traditionally known for its liberal immigration policy and openness to immigrants, is witnessing a shift in public opinion and government policies. Under the Conservative government led by Stephen Harper since 2006, there has been a tightening of immigration rules, including tougher citizenship tests, increased investment requirements for quick access, and a focus on skilled immigrants over those in need. The government has also reduced refugee intake, imposed visa requirements on visitors from certain countries, and prioritized temporary workers.
While the changes may seem incremental compared to the anti-immigrant sentiments seen in parts of Europe, they reflect a growing ambivalence among Canadians. A report on national security identified “uncontrolled immigration” as a potential threat, and there is a rise in negative and sometimes racist tones in public discourse about immigration. Economic concerns, fears of terrorist attacks, and rising unemployment during a mild recession contribute to the changing attitudes.
However, not everyone shares this negative view, and some organizations highlight the positive contributions of immigrants to innovation and cultural diversity. The ongoing debate raises questions about the future of Canada’s traditionally open and multicultural stance on immigration. Despite the shifts, a government-commissioned opinion poll indicates that a majority of respondents believe the current level of immigration is about right, suggesting that while the door may be narrowing, it is not likely to be slammed shut.

HI guys; Canada will create 180,000 jobs next year. We are on target in create 240,000 jobs this year and we created 372,000 last year.
In 2002, we had 520,000 unemployed. In 2011, we had 500,000 unemployed in Ontario alone. Another 900,000 in the rest of the country. We had 6.5 million people in the labor market in 2002, with 520,000 out of work. We now have a labor force of 18.7 million out of a total population of 34 million people. 1.4 million are out of work. Mass immigration has pushed housing prices in Toronto close to $500,000 dollars. It’s expensive to live here.
Canada should reduce it’s intake to about 84,000 a year and that way the people coming can get good jobs and we all are not slaves to the big companies as the reality is right now.
My essay is online and it’s about the 3 myths of Canadian immigration. It took 8 months and hundreds of hours of research to complete. Here is the link.

Hahahahaa listen to this nonwhite scum! Who would wanna move to Canada except pakies and indians and other nonwhite scum like yourself? Yeah, really-europeans would love to live in that Canadaindia2 and freeze their asses off all winter long! :)Paki, remember-you’ll never be canadian, canadians can’t be indians and punjabis! You’ll always be a filthy nonwhite immigrant working for the whites! FUCK YOU BROWN SHIT!
Given that Canada’s Conservative government won’t survive the next election, these increased restrictions on immigration will be short-lived.
I have visited Canada and first time I got off the plane I was shocked; indians and pakies everywhere. I thought we had landed in India. Then, for the next days I had the opportunitu to really find out how many indians Canada had. I believe thre are more indians and pakies in Canada than white canadians. I would never want to live in Canada! It looks like India 2.
Don’t worry, I’m fairly sure no Canadians would want you to live their either. Nor would we Americans want you to live in our country. We’ve got more than enough racist sleezebags as it is, no need to import more.
you must be some nonwhite immigrant from a third world dump. You’ll never be an american, pal!
