I suggest you read a little further, it is clearly stated what is meant by natural born citizen. Try James Madison or George Washington. All Presidents after WA were to be natural born citizens with both parents being natural born citizens. The idea is of course at the time of G Washington this was a new countryh populated by people from other countries therefore could not be included in the original clause but it is implied.

If one were to go by the document, John McCain is not a natural born citizen of the US because he was born on a US Military installation OUTSIDE of the US. US military installations abroad and US diplomatic or consular facilities are not part of the United States within the meaning of the 14th Amendment. A child born on the premises of such a facility is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and does not acquire US citizenship.
This also would be backed up by Betty’s statement about a natural born citizen = 2 US Citizen parents AND born on US soil. McCain didn’t meet the last criteria of that statement.

A protectorate is a territory of the USA. It is not a state. Panama is a sovereign nation with the canal zone at the time being only a protected leased territory of the USA. If we were to argue that any territory protected by the US is United States Soil, then we would have to allow all children born on US territories to be naturalized citizens. For example, if an Iraqi woman has an American service mans baby in a hospital in Iraq that happens to be a US Military base, then the baby would be born in US territory. This is not what the founders would have contemplated as a US naturalized citizen.
I myself do not consider McCain to be anything but a citizen of the USA. He is a fine American who has served his country well, both in the military and as a POW, a debt that can never truly be repaid to this man losing out years of his life. A Natural Born Citizen, by the very definition is “All persons born in the United States, except those not subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. government (such as children of ambassadors or other foreign diplomats) are citizens under the Fourteenth Amendment.” It does not specify for children born in the United States that both parents need to be citizens in order for the child be be a natural born citizen. The only time where citizenship is required for both parents is if the child is born outside of the US or its territories. They are called “citizens at birth,” including (for example) all persons “born outside of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents both of whom are citizens of the United States and one of whom has had a residence in the United States or one of its outlying possessions, prior to the birth of such person[s].” These quotes come from the US State Department.
American, they do let women fly up to the 35th week of pregnancy. After that, they are strictly advised not to fly. But you have to remember, that is the regulations for today and restrictions today vary by airline.

So nowhere within that amendment nor anywhere else in the US Constitution defines what you believe is there that a Natural Born Citizen = Two US Citizen Parents and Born on US Soil. No where in the document do you ever find those words. Before the 14th Amendment, the definition of Natural Born Citizen was left up to the individual states. I do not know where you are reading your definition in the US Constitution, as it is not there and you are more than welcome to show me in the 14th Amendment where it says those exact words you typed.

The clause you referred to (Article II – The Executive Branch, Section 1 – The President, Clause 5) does not state the claim she was saying was there either. Nowhere in the US Constitution does it give the definition that a Natural Born Citizen is someone who has Two US Citizen parents and were born on US soil. That is the point I was referring to.

If the birth certificate is genuine (remember nobody has asserted provenance and could be the work of anti-Obama expert photoshoppers) the establishment will look after their choice. When anybody stands for a federal post like governor or senator, as soon as their candidature is announced the security services go into their background to ensure a Manchurian candidate isn’t being slipped into the system. So where are the reports which are in public domain that were made on Obama’s background when he first stood for senate and then as presidential candidate?

How does one go about authenticating this birth certificate from Kenya? If it is real, it becomes a very very serious problem. But, if it is not, it is moot. However, I for one do not know how to go about checking if it is real. Are there any website for checking this story?

If you will note, McCarthy was a Senator, it was the HOUSE on unAmerican activities that took Hollyweird by storm not McCarthy. However McCarthy warned FDR of communists in his cabinet quietly. FDR chose not to listen, when the Venona papers were released a few years back, McCarthy was exatly right, but the left crucified him. Soetero was his stepfather’s name, he was bory Barack Hussein Obama II after his father who was Kenyan. Even if he was born here, which I don’t believe he was, he is still not eligible to be Pres. because his father was never a US citizen and according to the Constitution both parents have to be US citizens.
Actually the constitution says nothing about both parents being born in the US. Just the person running for president:

There were no amendments stating that the parents also had to be citizens.
However, I do agree. If this document is truly authentic, then yes, Barack Obama needs to be removed from office.
