Sern, I think you make some good points and I’m glad that you have the peace that you do, but it’s possible that some of your earlier teachings could be partly the reason. Strangely enough I have friends of many faiths and some with none and I can still love them and pray for them and do quite often. I pray you find your way home as well.

Anyway, she asked him to ask around about this story and its implications. He said he would and he did. He told us that when he asked vague questions about the threat by Obama to the 14 governors he was promptly told to butt out and not ask those kinds of questions. I don’t believe he was threatened but it was made clear he wasn’t to ask anything of the sort and to shut his mouth. So..of course he did. I would have too.

Who’s to say whether that means this could be real or not, regardless of what anyone or any other source has to say. It makes you wonder though, if it weren’t real why wouldn’t they just tell him?

Either way I’m not saying this proves or disproves anything. I just thought I would state what happened when he did ask around.

As for the Christianity stuff. I was born and raised into the christian world, mostly Lutheran. Through the years I always had questions that most christians couldn’t answer to my fullest expectations. I believed for many years and now I’m to the point of not knowing what to believe or caring that much. I certainly have nothing against christians or against atheists.

I find myself to be a reasonable person. I try to live by fact and not opinion. Most people agree, regardless of their religion or non-religion, that education is very important. Yet there is a large group of christians who throw science out the window when it comes to the bible or anything else involving their religion. How can you do that? There is also a group that believe science and christianity go hand in hand and they don’t contradict each other, I always preferred this thinking but as I said I’ve gone neutral.

Christians are taught to live by faith. How is it that when something bad happens we ask God why he let it happen? And yet others believe he causes both good and bad things to happen. That he controls all. How boring. To live my life knowing that nothing humans do, aside from maybe worship, will change the course of mankind? That God pulls all the strings? So then what? We curse him when a tsunami kills 4 million people, when your kid prematurely dies, and praise him when good things happen? None of this makes sense. God is all powerful and he loves us, but he causes bad things to happen to us too? I never believed that he controlled everything anyway. I mean, how can a just God let such horrible things happen? It has nothing to do with that… There are a small group of christians who believe that he neither makes good or bad things happen, they just happen. That’s the group I fell into. When a tsunami hits, it’s not because he caused it, it’s because nature caused it. It’s called the cycle of life and whether by nature or man made situations both good and bad things will always happen. To appreciate the good you must also know the bad.

I no longer go to church because of all the contradictions I find in the bible and in beliefs. Not only that, they put fear into you by forcing you to think that if you don’t BELIEVE you are condemned to hell for eternity. That sounds a bit tyrannical if you ask me. Christians love and keep faith and pray, but non believers are banished to the depths! Well…I’m sure not feeling the love.

It’s so easy to blame ourselves as a whole populace for ignoring the christian faith and God when ‘evil’ befalls us. But I hear none of that when everything is going well. In times of need it is easy to turn to supernatural powers and fabricate things that likely don’t exist at all. But psychologically they fill in a place that needs to be filled in times of need, whatever that need is.

I know this later part of my text has nothing to do with the story but I felt I should address this christian vs. atheist bashing that I see all over the internet and even here where there should be none. I’ve seen “christians” ruthlessly attack atheists, and of course I mean verbally. Not only that but anti-creationists as well. Funny thing, I have yet to see anti-creationists attack christians for their beliefs. They may make jokes and laugh about it but they don’t go out of their way to make propaganda like I’ve seen on Youtube.

I see nothing but contradiction. Why would I want to be a part of this? Oh and Pat Downing, you say we will never know the peace that you do? I beg to differ. I was a christian and believed fully for close to 17 years. I feel the same peace now that I did then. I’m no more hateful of anyone’s beliefs, in fact I’m even more open to various people’s and their perception of life.

I just wish a lot more christians would pick up a sociology book for once and read it all the way through, a good one. And no it’s not full of anti-christian propaganda lol.

After 2 weeks and 2 visits from the cable co. Im back online. There’s a lot more going on than we are being told and the mainstream media is just one of their many powerful tool’s.

Obama and his staff are mostly fascists, totally controlled by the corporate elite. They need to be removed and they will be before 2012. The military is waiting for the right moment when the American people have had enough.
