St. Petersburg, February 4, Interfax – The Kirovsky District Court in St. Petersburg has found Konstantin Dushenov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Rus Pravoslavnaya (Orthodox Russia), guilty of fomenting hatred through using the media and sentenced him to three years in prison.

Dushenov is to serve his sentence at a settlement colony, the court told Interfax on Thursday. Two other people tried for the same crime, Alexander Malyshev and Pyotr Meleshko, were given suspended sentences of 1.5 and 1 years respectively.

Dushenov was accused of “setting up an organized group for disseminating an extremist film [Russia With a Knife in Her Back] and publishing extremist articles” from January 2005 to mid-March 2007.

Dushenov hired Malyshev and Meleshko, who attended meetings of the Russian Idea club, to disseminate the film, an article, and other extremist materials by mail and via the Internet, the investigation said.

The three were charged with “fomenting hatred and enmity toward and humiliation of a person or a group of people motivated by ethnic background, origin, or relation to religion committed by an organized group in public and using media outlets.”

and just in dealing with those who be simular means
keep trying to stop the work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
