This will cost billions in the end if there is an end. This will be long term. USA has to jump in and rebuild while our own streets fall apart. Families have a rough time here. We need help. We should help but not take it over. Other countries are smart. They donate some and kick back and watch the USA try to save the world, Please!

Um you people are complaining about $100 million?!?! That is CHUMP CHANGE to our government. The Wallstreet bailout was just shy of $1 trillion!! So if my calculations are correct, that amounts to roughly 1/10,000 in comparison. I think we can spare that amount of money to help out the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere after the biggest disaster it has ever seen. Members of the EU have collectively donated over $600 million to the relief effort, and many EU nations are way more strapped for cash than the US government. If anything, us in America should be giving more! Have some damn compassion…

Screw Obama! He is not fit to be president in my opinion. the U.S economy has tanked and we are giving 100 million? Come on, where do you think this is coming from? It is coming from our pockets! Yes, we will be paying for this. I’m not against helping out in Haiti, but 100 million; our own country needs help,and lots of it!

with no disrespect towards haiti, and the tragedy they are faced with, i don’t believe that the usa should jump into the situation there as the biggest dog in the yard. we are falling apart in the us, with no jobs, no money, and very little light at the end of the tunnel, but, we are commiting ourselves not only to 100 million dollars, but, can you imagine the cost of the deployments that are in or on their way to haiti right now. how can we pay for all of this when we are in dire straights ourselves. i am not saying we should not help, we should, but, we should not, and cannot always be the country who does the most. perhaps, the united nations, needs to come together and pool it’s assets to cover the cost of such an undertaking, i know their are un forces in haiti, and they are involved in the operation, but, however, has the united nations had an emergency meeting, did they decide as a world organization, to commit what it will take for this tragedy? we just can afford to be the biggest contributor of aid.

I think Obama is being really stupid, he didn’t donate any money to New Orleans, so why should he donate money to Haiti… And we are in an economic crisis, so he need to think more about people getting jobs and the unemployment rate instead of some disastrious earthquake!!
