TeaParty

An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll this month showed more than four in 10 Americans have a favorable view of the movement, significantly more than the 24 percent with a negative opinion. That was better than the 35 percent positive rating for Democrats and the 28 percent Republicans got. In a Rasmussen poll in December, more people said they would vote for tea party movement candidates than for Republican ones — 23 percent to 18 percent, respectively.

Danita Kilcullen of Fort Lauderdale stands at at the intersection of Federal Highway and Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale with her fellow protesters. The protesters are part of the tea party movement and stage a weekly protest at the intersection.

It could be the birth of a party.

Fueled by anger at politicians and distrust of the government, the rapidly growing tea party movement could upend the political establishment in the 2010 elections — ultimately becoming a permanent, game-changing force in American politics.

Or, it could fizzle.

Even supporters aren’t sure. Joyce Kaufman, a talk-show host on WFTL, AM 850, thinks the answer will come in the November elections. “If nothing happens in 2010, it falls apart,” she said.

But she doesn’t see that happening.

“It’s going to be a huge dynamic. I don’t think it’s going to be easily defused. I think what you’re going to see is an energized voice. What they will do is come out and vote. The tea party movement is going to make a difference,” Kaufman said.

From its start in February with an on-air rant by CNBC analyst Rick Santelli, who said he was organizing a “Tea Party” for those opposed to the president’s proposed homeowner bailout plan, the tea party brand has become formidable. Protesters turned out for tea party demonstrations in cities across the country on April 15, then again to voice their opposition to health care legislation at town hall meetings throughout the summer.

Now, tea party supporters and related groups have picked up where the demonstrations left off. They are active throughout the United States and in South Florida, where they’re holding regular protests, preparing to register voters and recruiting more and more followers.

  1. While I’m totally in line with the IDEALS of the so-called Tea Party, I’m afraid that since their solution is to circle back to the same GW-Cheney-flavored Bank$ster-smooching GOP types that got us into this mess–AND propelled an empty suit like Obama into the White House (NEVER let Bush-Cheney-McCain off the hook for THAT)–they are going to taste short term satisfaction (say ’til Christmas), but be sorely disappointed within 6 months of the “new” Conservatives taking office.

In terms of realpolitik, tea partiers amount to a fake opposition movement (false flag op), meant to diffuse any REAL 3rd Party opposition.

Oh well, such are the false choices of “The Matrix” in Amerika… OTOH, we *DO* have to dismantle the Obama Regime, ASAP.

  2. Liberals are so mad, that despite hiding their socialist core behind any victim they can round up like cowards, despite controlling all media, unions, film, education, and all the other same old regurgitated entities they spawn to hide behind, that the American people still won’t buy into their lies. It makes them so mad that they still can’t make Americans roll over and give up our beliefs and culture, that they hate so much, (don’t we let Harvard and New England think for us? Who needs God when we have philosopher kings from academia to worship)? and they have yet to deal with RON PAUL! They actually thought they had won! That they ever could in America! What morons! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  4. We, the American people, should be rioting in the streets, angry and fed up with the raping and pillaging that our tyrannical, egotistical, bullies in the government have done to our populace. We are unemployed, have lost our homes, can’t afford to eat, are living on the streets, while the very narcisstic individuals who make the very laws that created this nightmare, are still employed, have nice homes, and can look forward to having their retirement and health care paid for by the very people who have neither. As the Patriot Act gutted what was left of our rights, gun control can’t be far behind. Then the criminals (here I am not referring to the government this time) will be the only ones with guns. We will truly then be a third world country. Slaves and their masters. Which one will you be?

After the Tea Party, I recommend war trials for all the criminals in Washington. The death penalty is a foregone conclusion.

  5. You are damn right! I will be voting for a REAL change come November, it will not be for some liberal scum sucking Marxist or a middle of the road, no balls having, Republican who is afraid to stand up to the establishment! We want freedom loving, Constitution supporting men and women in office who know who they work for and are not afraid to answer “we the people” when we come calling.

  7. Good! Preservation of individual rights, limited government, economic liberalism (not economic fascism or socialism), cut spending and taxes. Leave the people alone and let them live their life without stealing from one to give to another. End the discrimination.
