The state secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Pavel Borodin on Friday argued that a new Soviet Union is likely to come into being by 2017 as the result of the emergent customs union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan.
It is “an unprecedented step toward the restoration of the Soviet Union. I give you journalists a directive to write that Soviet space will be restored in 2017,” Borodin told a news conference in Minsk.
He said he saw 2017 as a symbolic date because the Bolsheviks established their rule in 1917.
He predicted that the customs union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan would be an efficient institution and that other former Soviet republics would soon seek to join it.
“We will take Georgia and Ukraine into the customs union,” he said.
“Very soon, Russia and Belarus will adopt the Constitutional Act and introduce a single currency. In 2010 we’ll go over to the dollar,” Borodin said.
His deputy Vasily Khrol said Borodin “was joking when he was speaking about the dollar.”
“The Russian ruble will be the single currency in the Union State,” Khrol said.
“I would like political decisions to be made at a high level, but as regards the development of the Union of Russia and Belarus in general, 10 years is not that long, really. The European Union has taken decades to take shape,” Khrol added.
Khrol said Belarusians and Russians would be able to travel and work in each other’s countries without any restrictions. Moreover, an agreement has been reached to give diplomatic assistance abroad to citizens of both countries, he said.

Can’t wait the Soviet union was one best countries out there and should be communist but Russia dislikes North Korea as does China so I am betting that the Soviet Union when they return will make short coming of North Korea. This will also make the U.S back on their feet with a goal not to make another Cold War but to be as strong putting Soviet’s in a perfect position to come back. I think they should isolate themselves from the World so nobody invades them or attacks them but they can build military and their economy would be stable even blowing billions upon trillions of a great military. Can’t wait.
Really I do believe if the Soviet Union were to be returned it would bring old friends together again spread the resources back through out the land; wealth will not be an out of control issue and gangs, prostitutes, and other illegal occurences would be surely stopped. To bring the economies of these nations back together would be as is the E.U. and should turn out to be a great success. My personal opinion is clearly stated, though I would think some restrictions such as “your papers” to cross states and blowing (Overly) vast sums of money on the military is something that shouldnt really be returned. Union will not be still alive Lukashenko!
Lukashenko does not give Jews the oligarchs of the Russian Federation, privatize industry of Belarus. Therefore, Russia spoil relations with him.
Lukashenko is very popular in Russia. If the Russia – Belarus will be a single state all the Russian and Belarusians vote for Lukashenko and he will become president of the Union. This is a nightmare for a Jew – oligarch!

Belarus a country without natural resources, but a wise national policy Lukashenko has led to the fact that in Belarus the first post-Soviet state ahead of its economic development in 1991 (the collapse of the USSR).
Russia, according to all forecasts, will be released at 1991 levels until 2020!

Unbelievable I cannot believe it the Soviet Union BACK!!! after all these years since 1991 the Original collapse of the soviet union on December 23’rd and now we see the re-emergence on the Soviet Republic in 2017 so all of Europe’s and United State’s Efforts including Boris Yeltsin’ Efforts “ALL IN VANE” and pretty much swept under the carpet like nothing ever happened since 1991 oh well I think this goes to show you that outsiders trying to impose will over insiders does not and will never bare results. :evil:
