I was a teenager at the time of the Apollo 11 moon landing and I well recall the gripping excitement from the successful Apollo 8 mission till the climax of the Apollo 11 landing.

At the same time though, there was the counter cultural movement in America, except that it was mostly white youth in scruffy clothes, tie dyes, painted faces who smoked hashish and dropped LSD.

So there were two sides to America back then as well.

Much of the decline of the United States is due to the outsourcing of its manufacturing and later even its information and services operations to lower wage countries by its multinational corporations competing with each other on lower price and this process has been further enabled by the availability of the Internet.

Lacking in well paying manufacturing and professional services jobs, Americans are left with lower paying service jobs and become more dependent on easy credit offered by the banks to maintain their lifestyle.

The “party” goes on until the system becomes unsustainable and it crashes.

Now Blacks or Hispanics are not responsible for all that.

As for the degeneration of the morals, spirit and culture of American society, well by all means blame Hollywood, the media, the advertising agencies and the consumer society for that but there are hardly any Blacks or Hispanics in the leadership positions in these initiatives.
