European authorities from Brussels published Monday June 29, 2009 a report showing the flux of immigrants will reach alarming numbers in Europe in the next years. By the year 2060, Italy will gain 12 million more immigrants than present.
In the entire EU zone immigrants will increase by 46,2 millions, informs the Italian newspapers Il Giornale.
According to Brussels, Spain’s immigrants will increase by 11,6 millions while Germany’s immigrants will increase by 8,2 millions.
“According to these estimations, the transformation of Spain and Italy from countries of origin to countries of destination will be realized in the next few decades” shows the report.
Because of aging, the native population will drop in Italy, Germany, Malta, Greece, Slovenia and Slovakia. The population will increase in Belgium, France, Spain, Ireland, Cyprus, Netherlands, Finland, Luxembourg, Portugal and Austria.
The report also told that in 2060 the average age found in people will be 55-years-old, thus at 10 teenagers of 15-years-old there will be 8 people of 80-years-old.
Right now Italy has an approximate of 4 million immigrants while Germany has 4,6 million immigrants.
All these figures represent only the official numbers. The unofficial numbers that will include the illegal immigrants could be even double or triple.
