The human race always thinks that each time or era will last forever. For example the cowboy period in the USA only lasted maybe 40 years before barbed wire arrived.

The time of British troops wearing bright red coats did not last forever.

Because of this not all countries will be able to have all the petrol that they want. And even if they did people would not be able to afford it.

On the subject of racism someone mentioned earlier – one of my grandmothers came from Germany, one of my ancestors was brought back as a slave during the ‘crusades’. I can honestly say I don’t know what ‘race’ I am, and also that I don’t care.

With best wishes for improvements to your traffic problems,
Nick

:)
Your article made me think of the traffic in the EU with few exception: this kind of traffic madness is an everyday thing and everywhere and the pedestrians crossing when and where they please are all white (well, all but a few gypsy exceptions)

My recent experience of this was yesterday: – M1 north was blocked up from Booysens rd so I went North through the CBD. What a total F-up. Even when there’s no place to move, Taxi’s still come across and block the intersections. As a result it took 2 hours just to get home to Randburg.

On the whole, though I give Jozi drivers more credit than CT drivers. There seems to be more courtesy among drivers of average cars here. (I’m not including drivers of luxury cars. BMW, AUDI, Rangie and Merc drivers take note – you are hated not because of the car you drive but because of your attitude. The road was not included in the price of your car!)

It doesn’t really happen in my country Eritrea the people are very lawful and respectful especially for the foreigners. It’s very important what I experienced from your pictures and comments but the word you used ” black pedestrians” is absolutely racial act and unacceptable.

***YOUR IP HAS BEEN TRACED BY RNVNA, YOU ARE FROM LEEDS IN UNITED KINGDOM, NOT FROM ERITREA! YOU ARE A LYER!***

Most of the time I was only white guy doing that. If you want to cross the street at that time as a pedestrian, only way to do it is like people shown in pictures, otherwise you wait forever. Taxi drivers are under extreme pressure to get as many passengers as they can to and from their destinations. That is why they drive as they do, some are overly aggressive, most drive Ok though, just have to be prepared that they will cut you off.
