Dacia is Renault’s low budget Eastern European brand with big ambitions. As you can see from this Duster concept, Dacia proves style doesn’t have to cost big bucks.
The Dacia – pronounced DA-chee-a, don’tcha know – Duster is a stylish coupe crossover that’s designed to be as cheap, practical and robust as it is good looking. But we think it might just be a jack of too many trades…
At the front it’s got a coupe-esque look, with some very distinctive headlights, while at the side, the body is quite MPV-ish, while those massive 21-inch alloys jack up the ride height a la SUV too.
Apparently, the Duster can carry a couple of mountain bikes inside, despite being relatively small. And despite having pretty far out looks, its powertrain is a conventional 105hp diesel borrowed from Renault-Nissan.
Will it make production? As with most concepts, dilute a fair bit of the lunacy and a junior SUV, which may share the underpinnings of the Nissan Qazana, and you probably won’t be far off.
