A castrated lion symbol was given in the Middle Ages to vassals whom the king wanted to humiliate.
In the past, any male would be greatly ashamed to be associated with such an unmasculine symbol. But today even the male military leaders will, without any hesitation, castrate their own symbols that for hundreds of years have been used to represent the best of male qualities such as male strength and male willingness to risk their own lives for the greater good – to protect women and society.
Today, Swedish men are only supposed to be pictured as having the courage of a castrated lion, a lion deprived of his masculinity.
