Battlecry is the fist and the only Heavy Metal band from the Rock Against Communism stage. Although RAC music was only made out of punk bands, it seems that things are changing as RAC music is getting more and more diverse.
Romanian National Vanguard: Hello, thank you for accepting this interview and I hope you will enjoy it as much as me.
Battlecry: Thank you for giving us the opportunity to speak with you and all of our brothers and sisters in Romania!
Romanian National Vanguard: Could you please introduce yourself to our public?
Battlecry: The band Battlecry consists of David Johnn on vocals and guitar and Richard “Spartan” Stewart on guitar and percussion.
Romanian National Vanguard: Why did you started this band?
Battlecry: We started Battlecry as a direct response to what we felt was a lack of “Heavy Metal” representation in the pro-White movement. We have both played in many mainstream Metal acts in our 20+ years of performing and have also run our own recording studio during the mid to late nineties. The name, “Battlecry” we believe defines our ties to our warrior ancestors of the past such as the Spartans, Vikings, etc., while still remaining relevant to the struggles we face today as a race.
Romanian National Vanguard: Who is the composer of your lyrics?
Battlecry: David Johnn writes all of the lyrical content of our songs.
Romanian National Vanguard: So far have you made any concerts?
Battlecry: No, we have not as of yet made any plans to play out as a band, but this could always change in the future.
Romanian National Vanguard: Will you ever come and make a concert in Romania? I’m sure if you hire people to stick your posters on the walls many romanians will come to your concert.
Battlecry: We would of course love the chance to play in front of our Romanian brothers and sisters. Maybe in the future we will have this opportunity to perform in your great country!
Romanian National Vanguard: You have achieved much and there are many people who know about you today thanks to organizations such as the American National Vanguard. What is your position about the Romanian National Vanguard?
Battlecry: Battlecry fully supports all our White folk who have the courage to stand up for their heritage and their race. We wish the Romanian National Vanguard continued success in advancing the cause White people.
Romanian National Vanguard: A new movie will come out in theaters pretty soon. It is called 300 and it’s about the 300 Spartans. You have a song about that in your last album called “Hot Gates of Hell”. Will your song be used in that movie?
Battlecry: No.
Romanian National Vanguard: Why not? We really hope you could contact them and add your song in that movie.
Battlecry: I’m afraid we live in a climate here in America that is very hostile to White people. We are branded as “haters” just for writing music about the love and pride we have in our folk. Due to this anti-White enviroment, many mainstream opportunities, such as having one of our songs in a movie, are closed to us.
Romanian National Vanguard: I hope we have established a friendship and I hope we will do this more in the future. Our fans would be happy to hear more about your band and to read interviews about you. Could you give a message to our readers and to the romanian people?
